Kasablanca's Immunity lands as their first original release for Anjunabeats
The six-track EP already has nearly 18 million Spotify streams behind it before the duo's Anjunabeats debut even ships.
Kasablanca’s Immunity EP is landing on Anjunabeats. On 18 March.
Nearly 18 million Spotify streams and a number one on the dance chart at SiriusXM BPM, the satellite radio station’s electronic channel. The six-track set is about to become the duo’s first original release for the label.
The connection goes back further than that. Late in 2021, Kasablanca remixed Above & Beyond’s Black Room Boy for the label’s 10 Years of Group Therapy compilation.
Human Learning, their debut album, grew out of the same surreal soundscapes as Run, their earlier track with Lane 8. The duo has been touring behind that sound ever since, including a live run through venues like Red Rocks as shows returned across the country.
The EP opens the way earlier Kasablanca records have, easing a vocal line in alongside the arrangement before either one fully takes over the mix. The rest keeps to their usual register: warm synth work, a heavy low end, and a vocal performance that carries most of the emotional weight.
