Grum's Long-Delayed 'Deep State' Finally Has a Date on Anjunabeats

The album is back on track, with a tour called Deep State Rewired following it.

The album had slipped, and the news that mattered to anyone waiting on it was simply that it’s back on track for the year.

‘Deep State’ is out on 8 November through Anjunabeats, ten tracks carrying a release date that’d become its own running story long before there was any music attached to it.

Grum has spent the wait doing the other thing, which is playing, and the sets have travelled far enough that the work is a large part of why he sits near the front of the Anjuna roster.

A tour follows the record, called Deep State Rewired, and the first leg of it goes out under the name Transmission 1.

Naming a tour after the album isn’t unusual. Naming its opening run Transmission 1 is what somebody does when they’re already planning the ones that come after it.

What arrives on 8 November is ten tracks that took long enough to make that the release date became the story. Now the record’s allowed to be the story instead.
