Hot Since 82 makes his Defected debut with 'Preach'
A dozen years into his catalogue, the producer lands on Defected for the first time, alongside Ron Carroll, for its 25th-anniversary series.
Hot Since 82 has been releasing music since 2012, and he’s never once put a record out through Defected. That changes this month, with ‘Preach,’ a collaboration with Ron Carroll, a veteran of Chicago house, out 10 May 2024.
The single lands as part of Together. It’s a collaborative series Defected’s built around its 25th anniversary, and instead of marking the year with a straight reissue campaign, the label’s paired its own name with artists from around the world for new material. ‘Preach’ is one entry in that run, with Hot Since 82 and Ron Carroll as its pairing.
It’s built to land as one of the more obvious singles of the season, the kind of track a summer schedule gets built around.
The release carries two versions of the same track: the original, and the extended mix, which is the version doing the announcing here on its own. That’s the one carrying the story.
