Hot Since 82 Brings Liz Cass Into The Eye Of The Storm

The cut comes from his third album, Recovery, written before anyone knew how apt that title would feel.

‘Eye of the Storm,’ featuring Liz Cass, lands on Knee Deep In Sound.

It’s pulled from ‘Recovery,’ the Barnsley-based DJ and producer’s third album to date. Hot Since 82, real name Daley Padley, built it out to a full 13 tracks, a sizeable collection by any measure.

The guest list runs wide across the rest of the record. Jamie Jones and Boy George turn up together on ‘Body Control,’ Miss Kittin features on ‘Naboo,’ Ed Graves appears on ‘Sinnerman,’ and Liz Cass returns for a second appearance on ‘Loverdose,’ after the title track already made her the featured name.

The title track’s got an odd backstory, though. Padley wrote it a full year before the album came out, well before anyone could’ve guessed how the word “Recovery” would end up resonating by the time it landed. He’s said the fit was pure coincidence, not something he planned for.
