Charlotte de Witte ends the wait since Asura with Universal Consciousness

Her first EP since 2021's Asura arrives on her own label, four tracks deep and built for a peak-time room.

Charlotte De Witte hadn’t put out a solo EP since Asura, back in 2021, and ‘Universal Consciousness’ is what ends that stretch.

It arrives on KNTXT, the label she’s run herself since 2019, which makes this a homecoming of sorts, four tracks with no features and nobody else’s name on the credits.

The opener, ‘Satori,’ pushes into high energy fast, built around the acid-laced synth work that’s become something like a signature for her, and it doesn’t let up much from there. ‘Kali’ and the title track hold that same pressure. Up-tempo drums, rapid melodic runs. It is one continuous idea across four tracks, not four separate ones bolted together.

She’s not releasing into a quiet month, either. A headline show at Hï Ibiza is already booked for June 30th, and this EP lands right in the run-up to it, though the full lineup for that night hasn’t been announced.
