Charlotte De Witte's 'Apollo' arrives on her own label KNTXT

A hammering, relentless kick carries the lead single, tempered by a melody soft enough to cut straight through it.

Charlotte de Witte built it as the title track of ‘Apollo,’ a four-track EP out now via KNTXT, her own label, pressed to vinyl as well as streaming.

“The vastness and solitude of space always interested me,” Charlotte de Witte said. “A compelling contrast between monumental power and the vacuum in between. This diversion can also be found in techno music, a pure simplicity divergent in power.”

Missing Channel opens the EP on an acid-heavy note, while Mercury and PPC drift into more melodic, experimental territory.

She’s kept a hold on the top of the techno charts for years now, more through quality than sheer volume.

She’d made history herself a few months earlier, becoming the first woman to close Tomorrowland’s Mainstage, the biggest stage at the world’s largest dance festival. She’s played Tomorrowland every year since 2017. One name among roughly 600 artists booked for that edition.

It’s her first release in six months, and her first on KNTXT since April’s ‘Universal Consciousness’ EP; she’s been putting records out since 2015, the last three years of it on her own label alone.

KNTXT is taking over Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome for a label showcase during ADE this month, and the label is also working with Filling Pieces across the week-long event.
