Yotto turns Faithless' 'I Need Someone' into a hypnotic club remix
Faithless themselves praised the remix, saying it gave the track a darker, more hypnotic edge.
Warm synths and crisp, club-ready percussion carry the vocal through Yotto’s new remix, a hypnotic turn that leans fully into his melodic side.
The remix reworks Faithless’ ‘I Need Someone,’ the Nathan Ball and Caleb Femi-featured single. Out since 12 March. Nathan Ball, who sang the original, gets an entirely new frame from Yotto’s low end and drums, where the poignancy doesn’t get lost.
It follows ‘Everything Will Be Alright Tomorrow.’
Faithless have praised the remix themselves, saying Yotto brought a darker, more hypnotic edge to the track, one he’d already folded into his ‘A Very Cold DJ Set’ performance from Lapland, Finland.
If it passed you by, there’s a reason to go back. It’s built for a colder, later hour, one that doesn’t lose the warmth that made the original worth remixing even with the drums pushed well forward.
The original comes from ‘All Blessed,’ Faithless’ comeback album from that October.
