Maceo Plex announces Monster on Rekids

Maceo Plex has two labels of his own to answer to, which is what makes the destination of his newest EP the detail worth stopping on. The American producer oversees both Ellum Audio and Lone Romantic. He’s put this one out through somebody else’s imprint entirely.

Monster EP landed on 28 August through Rekids, Radio Slave’s label, where Maceo Plex hasn’t released anything before.

The release takes its name from its title track, while the one behind it hands a vocal to Baby Monsta before driving ‘Baby Monster’ through a dense weld of electro and techno.

That collision isn’t new ground for Maceo Plex, who’s spent years building a musical world of his own in which the borders between house, techno and electro have never held.

The EP follows The Plan, the most recent record to carry his name.
