Yotto Trades Club Sets For An Ambient Detour On 'Erased Dreams'

The Anjunachill album follows 'Shadow Cycle', built from tracks he wrote just to unwind.

Most club producers keep their late-night sketches to themselves; they’re filed away, not released; Yotto didn’t, and ‘Erased Dreams’ is the result: an ambient album on Anjunachill.

Big room sets and heavy, low-end house built his name as a DJ, and here, he’s slowed all of that down.

“At first, I was being really productive with club music,” he says. “I bought a guitar, which I had no idea how to play.”

He wrote the tracks on their own, with no plan for how they’d fit together, until he lined them up in a single playlist and recognized a thread that’s running through all of them. “I think the beauty lies in the simplicity of it,” he says.

His catalogue already includes a Billboard number-one album, along with remix credits for Joris Voorn, Gorillaz and Coldplay, and ‘Erased Dreams’ follows ‘Shadow Cycle’, his previous release on Anjunachill. Its lead single, ‘Silhouette’, arrived on 13 June.

The full album lands 11 July.
