Nicole Moudaber puts out new EP The Volume with Alan T

The techno DJ collaborates with Alan T, a Miami club doorman she's known since the early 2000s, on her own label.

Techno DJ Nicole Moudaber’s teamed up with Alan T, a Miami club doorman, for new EP ‘The Volume,’ out 5 March via her own label, Mood Records.

Alan T isn’t a touring producer. He works the door at a Miami club. It’s an unusual day job for someone about to share billing on a techno record. Moudaber started the project back in April of the previous year, hoping it’d bring Alan T the recognition she believes he’s long deserved.

Techno runs through both tracks. ‘The Volume’ opens on groove-heavy percussion that builds slowly into something more dramatic, dreamy melodic touches threading through vocal chops from both Moudaber and Alan T. A companion track, ‘The Music Is Mine,’ rounds out the release.

The EP follows Pepper Shake, her latest release, and Seeing It Through, her last outing specifically on Mood Records, the label she runs herself.

“Alan and I met in the early 2000s during the Winter Music Conference in Miami and always found ourselves reconvening on the dancefloor,” Moudaber says.
