Amelie Lens breaks a decade-long streak with 'AURA'

Belgian DJ and producer Amelie Lens, who has been releasing music for a decade without ever putting out a full-length album, has announced her debut record ‘AURA’, due 4 September on her own label, EXHALE.

Ahead of the album, she’s shared ‘our frequency,’ a new single that finds her handling the vocals herself. That mix of extremes, big and small, glossy and unpolished, has run through her music and her sets for years, and it’s an early sign of where the full record is headed. Lens leans into it directly on this one, pairing her usual peak-time drive with a softer, more melodic and emotional side.

That same range was on display earlier this year during her first-ever back-to-back set with Sara Landry, at Ultra Miami’s Resistance Megastructure, where she played both ‘falling into acid dreams’ and ‘whatever you do’.

Lens has described the album in her own words. “AURA is about the connection between the crowd and me,” she said, and she’s also called it “the most honest version of myself I’ve ever shared.” It’s arriving digitally and as a double LP on blue-and-white vinyl.

‘AURA’ will run eleven tracks in total.
