Amelie Lens marks her Sony Music debut with 'Young Forever'

Dance music’s majors have spent years chasing the kind of credibility that used to live only on vinyl-only techno imprints; the fastest way to buy it, it turns out, is to sign the artist who already has it.

Amelie Lens is the latest to make that jump. ‘Young Forever,’ her new single, is out today as her first release on Sony Music; it lands in the middle of what’s already been a landmark year for the Belgian artist. She’s closed out Tomorrowland’s main stage, drawn a crowd of more than 12,000 in Santiago; she’s also debuted a new live show called Aura, developed alongside High Scream Studios.

It follows ‘Synthetic Horizons,’ her last release; sonically, it’s a comfortable fit inside her catalogue: pulsing techno streaked with acid and trance, built for a long set instead of a hook.

Whether that changes anything about how she sounds is a fair question; this single doesn’t really answer it. You can hear it now and judge for yourself.
