Luch Is Paranormal's First Signing From Outside the Label
Notre Dames started the label on their own catalogue. 'Siren's Flicker' is the first record on it by somebody else.
Notre Dames launched Paranormal recently and, until now, put out only their own records on it.
‘Siren’s Flicker’ changes that. It landed on 6 March as both Luch’s debut for the label and the first thing Paranormal has signed from outside the house that founded it.
Luch is Daniel Grossman, out of Mexico City. He came into music as a producer, a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist, three jobs he’s still working at once.
That other lane isn’t a sideline. Seven times platinum, nominated by Billboard, and credits with some of the largest names in Latin and electronic music.
The dance work runs alongside it. Solomun and RÜFÜS DU SOL have played his records, he’s a regular in the Beatport charts, and the catalogue takes in Ninja Tune, Insomniac and Magnifik Music.
Grossman has said the track came together late in the studio, while he was after something with energy in it that stayed hypnotic as it moved.
One track, with nothing else in the package that a label would normally use to pad a debut out. No remixes. No extended cut.
