ARTBAT and Pete Tong rework 'Age of Love' for Ministry of Sound
The rework leans on a 1990 Belgian original and lands alongside seven other reinterpretations on the collection, with vinyl due February 4.
Trance revivals don’t usually wait for an anniversary. A strong lead line just needs the right hands finding it again.
ARTBAT and Pete Tong have reworked ‘Age of Love’ for ‘Pete Tong + Friends: Ibiza Classics’, the collection arriving through Ministry of Sound that revisits the Balearic songbook for a newer room.
The rework leans into big synth work, folding in flashes of trance and techno while chasing the kind of emotional swell that’s become ARTBAT’s signature; it’s already doing the rounds digitally.
It sits alongside seven other reinterpretations on the project, each pulled from the same Balearic catalogue, built for rooms that already know the originals well enough to notice what’s changed.
‘Age of Love’ itself dates back to 1990, when Bruno Sanchioni and Giuseppe Chierchia, the Belgian duo behind the original, cut it for Diki Records. Three decades on, it’s ARTBAT and one of dance music’s most recognizable names giving it another life.
One rave mix and two Jules Buckley versions, an edit and the full cut, carry the release between them.
Vinyl lands February 4.
