NevadaSYSTEM and Qian Qiao have released ‘Above The Noise,’ a new single on VASA Records.
The record starts quiet. A hazy stretch of atmosphere, then the drums settle into a steady four-count pulse. A female vocal takes the middle of the mix, heavy with reverb, and it’s tucked in behind the beat instead of pushing out front.
It’s a house record built for late nights, not big rooms; there’s a cinematic, introspective quality to it that doesn’t tip into aggression, closer to a slow set than a headline slot.
NevadaSYSTEM describes the genre in similar terms. “Melodic house is about movement, about going somewhere,” the artist said. “So naturally you’re asking where did we come from, where are we now.”
The project’s been releasing music since March 2022, a run that took in Blanco y Negro and Enormous Tunes before NevadaSYSTEM landed at VASA Records in June 2023; NevadaSYSTEM has played live this year in Brooklyn and Dallas, including a set at Silo.
