Makebo Opens All Day I Dream's Year With 'The Universe' EP
Four tracks across thirty-two minutes, and the Barcelona producer's latest for Lee Burridge's label.
Synths bend out of shape and the sound design keeps shifting texture, laid out deliberately across thirty-two minutes so that no two stretches sit the same way.
That’s ‘The Universe’, four tracks from Makebo, and it opens All Day I Dream’s year.
The Barcelona-based producer put it out on 13 February. It’s his latest for the label Lee Burridge runs.
Makebo’s been at this since 2018, when he started the project. Records followed on Anjunadeep, Lost Miracle and Shanti Radio. He’s been busy.
Makebo also runs Rubicunda, an imprint he launched with Amonita, and his work’s picked up support from Sébastien Léger, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green and Khen.
Makebo goes back seven years with All Day I Dream. He turned up on A Winter Sampler in 2019, came back for A Winter Sampler II and then the Summer Sampler, and put out ‘Skyline’, his first EP for them, in 2021.
Contrast and progression are what the four tracks are built on. Thirty-two minutes, and the shape doesn’t sit still across any of it.
