Lane 8 And Yotto Finally Collaborate Properly On 'I / Y'
After years of remixes between them, Lane 8 and Yotto release a joint single on This Never Happened.
Having previously remixed several of Lane 8’s tracks, Yotto now joins him properly.
The pair have released ‘I / Y’ together, out on This Never Happened. It’s the kind of pairing that always felt inevitable, even if it took this long to happen.
Yotto is Finnish. He arrives fresh off a world tour built around an eclectic compilation release of his own, plus a run of remixes including a package for RÜFÜS DU SOL’s ‘Underwater’. Lane 8, meanwhile, put out his album ‘Little By Little’ the year before, a ten-track run through the American producer’s sound, easily one of the more complete records in his catalogue to that point.
Both lean into soft, chord-driven melodic house here, the kind built for long summer sets. Warm tones. Nothing rushed. It’s the kind of pairing the progressive house scene has been waiting on, and few producers stack a chord line this carefully or make it sound quite this unforced.
