Lane 8 returns to This Never Happened with Oh, Miles
A year after Brightest Lights, Lane 8 comes back to his own label with a slow-burning single built around Julia Church's voice.
Landing just days after Brightest Lights’ first anniversary, Lane 8 returns to This Never Happened, his own label, with a new single, Oh, Miles, featuring vocalist Julia Church.
The track takes its time, built from a delicate melody laid over layered synths, with a light, fluttering bassline underneath it and Julia Church’s voice woven through the chords. Lane 8 posted it himself, simply: “i hope you all enjoy it.”
Oh, Miles follows Brightest Lights Remixed as the label’s most recent release. Brightest Lights itself landed the year before and turned into one of 2020’s most talked-about house albums.
The label also just launched a companion playlist, This Never Happened Invites, built from selections curated by guests and friends of the label, meant to run alongside the singles it keeps putting out.
