Lane 8 pulls 'Stir Me Up' from his sophomore album Little by Little
The cut sits sonically close to lead single 'No Captain,' pulled from the same ten-track record.
Lane 8 has built a reputation as one of deep house’s more disciplined stylists, someone who treats a record less as a collection of tracks and more as a single mood stretched across an hour. ‘Stir Me Up’ is the latest evidence, pulled from his sophomore album ‘Little by Little’ on his own This Never Happened imprint.
It sits close to ‘No Captain,’ the album’s lead single, which wove Poliça’s vocals through its own version of the same warmth. The two tracks share a sonic thread, and it’s not an accident on a record built to hold together as one listen, not ten separate ones.
This Never Happened, the label he runs himself, has grown considerably since he started it. The touring arm carries the same name. Phones stay at the door. It’s the same no-phones concept that already proved itself across earlier runs of the tour, and it’s carrying over intact for this one, unchanged down to the door policy.
The tour behind ‘Little by Little’ spans 35 dates worldwide, starting January 25th.
