Kevin de Vries hands the other half of 'Dance With Me' to Kölsch
The two-track return pairs the original with a Kölsch remix, following his last outing, Aratak, on the same label.
Kevin de Vries has given away the back half of his own single: ‘Dance With Me’ lands on Afterlife as a two-track release, and it’s Kölsch, not de Vries, handling the record’s other side.
De Vries has been on the label since 2018.
‘Dance With Me’ follows Aratak, his last outing on Afterlife, and this time the remix goes to Kölsch, the producer taking the remix credit instead of de Vries himself.
The original rides a loop of rolling synth textures and a tight, steady beat, with a vocal kept flat and low in the mix instead of pushed to the front. It’s built for a room, not a pair of headphones, and it’s a spellbinding one.
It’s also something of a homecoming. De Vries is one of Afterlife’s own, and ‘Dance With Me’ marks another return to the label, not a guest spot.
The pairing gives the release two very different rooms to work in.
