Georgia Lee makes her Gain Records debut with 'Out Of The Dark'

Georgia Lee debuts on Gain Records with a techno single dedicated to anyone still carrying grief.

Georgia Lee works out of Rome. ‘Out Of The Dark’ leans into the harder, more techno-driven side of a sound she’s shown to be fairly eclectic.

The single arrives as her first release on Gain Records, the label run by Sisko Electrofanatik. It comes packaged with remixes from Alex Nocera, Produkkt and D Lewis, the last a veteran whose own career stretches back to the '90s.

Lee has been direct about what ‘Out Of The Dark’ is actually about: it’s a track for anyone still standing after real loss, still fighting through grief that’s both personal and something closer to spiritual. The original mix carries that same weight: a booming kick and throbbing bassline underneath crunching hi-hats and pads that build tension without releasing it.

Nocera’s version pushes the tempo higher and drops a fresh, spiky synth line into the breakdown. Produkkt goes the other way; it’s a slower build, weighted down by a fresh electro bassline and pads that add a more dystopian edge.

The versions don’t try to agree with each other. Each one pulls the title track somewhere different; none of them sound like an afterthought.

It’s out on Gain Records, dated 6 December 2024.
