Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano share Reflection EP
The techno pair, also a couple, follow their 2021 'Age Of Love' rework with a second collaboration built around a single vocal hook.
Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano are a couple as well as collaborators, and ‘Reflection’ marks only their second work together.
“The idea to do a collaborative track followed naturally after remixing ‘The Age Of Love’ a couple of years ago,” Sangiuliano says. He adds: “After NINETOZERO was born, I invited Charlotte to work on the concept of ‘Reflection’: the change in direction of a sound wave passing from one medium to another.”
The pair’s actual first work together, a 2021 techno rework of the trance standard ‘The Age Of Love,’ was a resounding success; ‘Reflection’ pushes further into that shared signature, the percussion running sharp and fast-paced; it occasionally edges toward the sound of de Witte’s own ‘Formula’ EP.
The whole track turns on one vocal hook, pulled from her own voice: ‘What’s your reflection?’ It’s the third release on NINETOZERO, the countdown-style imprint Sangiuliano runs on his own.
He’s no stranger to Beatport’s upper reaches, either, one of the genre’s better-selling names.
