Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano's Mystery Remix Was Their First Collaboration
The techno pair previewed the remix in livestreams for a year before revealing it was theirs, out 13 August.
A remix fans had heard for months in Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano’s livestream sets has finally been identified as their first collaboration together, out 13 August via Diki Records as ‘The Age Of Love’.
De Witte and Sangiuliano, a couple who announced their engagement the previous year, entered the studio together for the remix. It’s the first time the pair has worked on a track jointly.
The idea took shape during lockdown, when livestreamed sets had become the primary way fans could watch the two perform. De Witte and Sangiuliano previewed the remix repeatedly over the following year, including during a set of De Witte’s at Tomorrowland’s digital festival, before revealing whose production it actually was.
The remix reworks the original’s melody into a big, propulsive techno cut, leaning on the weight of low end De Witte’s productions are known for against a steadier pulse from Sangiuliano.
‘The Age Of Love’ began as a self-titled dance track by the act Age Of Love in 1990, a release credited with helping shape the trance movement that followed it.
