Chris Avantgarde Launches His Own Label, Hyperreal, With 'Energy'
The single is his first release on the new imprint and follows 'Desolate Lands', his last release elsewhere.
Chris Avantgarde has spent his career putting music out through other people’s labels.
That changes with ‘Energy’, his first release on Hyperreal / Boom.Records, the label and album project he’s just launched under his own name, out 15 August 2025. Now he’s in charge.
Avantgarde described the launch in his own words: “Hyperreal marks the launch of my new label and debut album, combining all my influences and music I play live into one coherent project. It’s an ode to versatility and freedom, unconstrained by genre limitations.”
‘Energy’ follows ‘Desolate Lands’, his previous release. The launch also arrives during a breakout stretch for him on stage, with sets this summer at Ultra Music Festival, EDC and Tomorrowland. He’s also held a consistent presence near the top of various Beatport charts in recent years.
Before founding Hyperreal, his music had appeared on other labels, among them Afterlife and Drumcode.
Beyond the launch itself, the track leans into the kind of precision-engineered club dynamics built for peak time, not headphones, and Avantgarde is keeping the momentum going with a run of Ibiza shows this year, including stops at Pacha and Ushuaïa.
