CamelPhat Rework ARTBAT and Sailor & I's 'Best of Me'

‘Best of Me’ (CamelPhat Remix) lands on METAPHYSICAL, Get Physical’s sister label.

It is Liverpool duo CamelPhat’s own hand on ARTBAT and Sailor & I’s original, following a debut album, ‘Dark Matter,’ that came out the previous autumn and marked a genuine climb for a duo who had been building toward it.

This one is a smaller job: a warehouse-techno rework of somebody else’s record, arriving while the duo’s own 2021 was already ramping up.

CamelPhat pulls the original toward a heavier, more club-facing techno direction here, hanging onto the same central melodies underneath a bigger low end, and the suspense of the original stays in the frame, just retooled for a different room.

‘Best of Me’ was itself one of several singles ARTBAT put out during a strong 2020 for the melodic techno duo.

This rework, though, belongs to somebody else’s story as much as ARTBAT’s. It is the first taste of Diving For Lost Treasure, Sailor & I’s next album.
