Anyma And Baset Turn A Long-Teased ID Into 'Neverland (From Japan)'

Anyma and Baset’s ‘Neverland (From Japan)’ spent months making the rounds as an unnamed ID before either producer confirmed what it was.
It’s now a full track on Anyma’s album ‘The End Of Genesys’, released through Anyma/Interscope Records, and it sees Anyma team up with Baset. He’s making his name out of Cairo, part of a wider push pulling techno into new corners of the map, and his production is what pulls the track fully into techno territory, working against Anyma’s more melodic instincts.
The album carries an unusually wide range of guest features across its 15 tracks for a techno record, and ‘Neverland (From Japan)’ holds its own inside that company.
The pairing leans hard into a hypnotic pulse, closer to the melodic techno Anyma has built his career on than to a detour.
Baset framed the release simply. “NEVERLAND is open! Step inside. A special one with the visionary Anyma.”
