Adam Beyer and Green Velvet reunite for 'Simulator' on Drumcode
The Drumcode boss built it alone for a few years before it started sounding like Velvet's own 'Destination Unknown'.
Coming off a run through Awakenings and a first solo set at Coachella, Adam Beyer brings in Green Velvet for ‘Simulator’, a single that’s out 21 April on Drumcode.
The track spent a few years in Beyer’s hands before Green Velvet ever came on board. It started to echo ‘Destination Unknown’.
Back in February, Beyer had already put out the hypnotic ‘Legend’, a single that turned into one of the most requested tracks he’s ever released. Velvet’s vocals do the heavy lifting throughout, world-recognized and impossible to miss.
Their first collaboration in five years. It follows 2018’s ‘Space Date’.
Beyer’s had one of his busiest years yet, and the label boss returns to the charts to keep that run going before the year is even half over.
The result is raw, hook-driven techno, both of them trading the same groove back and forth. It’s not subtle, and it isn’t trying to be.
