Nora En Pure opens 2025 with 'Protected,' featuring Richard Walters
The Swiss-South African producer's first single of the year lands mid-tour, with Richard Walters on vocals.
Swiss-South African producer Nora En Pure has spent January on the road across North America. ‘Protected’ is her first single of the year, out now on Enormous Tunes.
It’s a fast follow-up. ‘Polar Lights’ came out on the same label just over a month earlier, and she’s been on Enormous Tunes since 2010, long enough that a quick turnaround like this one doesn’t read as unusual for her at all.
Richard Walters sings on the track, and his part isn’t decoration. It leads. The melody bends around his voice, not the other way around, and the mix leaves space for that to happen. It’s lush and organic, a little melancholy under the polish, uplifting without tipping into saccharine, the kind of atmosphere she’s built her whole catalog around.
She’s played New York, Los Angeles and Miami already this month, with Atlantic City, Boston, Las Vegas, Dallas and Washington still ahead of her. Five weeks on the road. ‘Protected’ is the song traveling with her through all of it, and it’s built for a set of headphones as much as a festival PA.
