Nora En Pure closes a very long year with Luscious Rain
Her fifth release of 2021 landed on Enormous Tunes while the Winter Phase I tour was already moving.
Nora En Pure has spent long enough at the front of melodic house that people have started calling her its queen, and 2021 is the year that stopped sounding like a stretch.
Count what she’s put out. ‘Thermal / Oblivion’, ‘Aquatic’, ‘Life On Hold’, ‘Tantrum’, and now ‘Luscious Rain’, which arrived on Enormous Tunes on 12 November.
Any one of those would be a reasonable year on its own, and five of them delivered while a tour was already in motion is a different kind of number altogether. She hasn’t stopped to notice.
The Winter Phase I run is under way and it doesn’t pause for the calendar. She’s booked alongside Elderbrook at Terminal 5 for New Year’s Eve, and a room that size flatters very few records while quietly exposing all the others.
‘Luscious Rain’ comes as a two-track release named after its own lead. It isn’t an album and it isn’t an EP with filler round the edges. Two tracks, out now on Enormous Tunes.
