Cristoph launches his own label with Turning Away

The Newcastle producer starts his own imprint after years on other people's rosters, with vocalist Ross Quinn on the first release.

Cristoph has launched a label of his own, Consequence Of Society Recordings, and ‘Turning Away’ arrived on 22 July as its first release.

For the track, he teamed up with vocalist Ross Quinn, whose vocal turn lands layered and euphoric, riding a deep, driving groove that reaches back toward the dancefloor sound that shaped Cristoph’s own style in the early 2000s.

The Newcastle producer’s put out records with the likes of Bedrock, Last Night On Earth, Truesoul, Knee Deep in Sound, Yoshi Toshi and Selador, long before setting up anything of his own.

Turning Away answers to none of them.

A recent outside collaboration, ‘World You See’ with Franky Wah on Eric Prydz’s Pryda Presents, has drawn close to four million streams on Spotify.

Running his own outlet means he’s the one deciding what gets released, when, and how often.

“It’s always been a career goal to run my own label,” Cristoph said, and only the timing was ever really in question.
