Chris Liebing and Charlotte de Witte Reunite on 'Symphonie des Seins'
This second collaboration lands on Liebing's own CLR imprint, seven years after their first.
German techno artist Chris Liebing and Belgian counterpart Charlotte de Witte have reunited for ‘Symphonie des Seins.’ It’s only their second release together.
Their first collaboration, ‘Liquid Slow,’ came out seven years earlier. This one lands on CLR, Liebing’s own label.
De Witte’s vocal here is spoken more than sung, drawn from real diary entries about ayahuasca and DMT trips that Liebing came across online and worked into the record himself. Underneath, the whole thing sits in mid-'90s acid techno territory: programmed drums driving it forward, and a bassline that keeps climbing as the track runs.
Liebing and de Witte came up in different eras of techno altogether, and ‘Symphonie des Seins’ plays like a meeting point between the two, old-school in its bones and current in how it’s delivered.
The release runs four tracks total. Alongside the title cut and a Chris Liebing Dub Edit sit two Liebing solo productions, ‘Roy Batty’ and ‘Brooks Ave.’
It’s out now via CLR, landing 27 February.
