Alesso and Marshmello Meet in the Middle on 'Chasing Stars'

One track. A single built for radio, the kind that folds both artists’ sound into one seamless thing, where you can’t quite tell where one artist’s fingerprint ends and the other’s begins. It’s easy to hear either name in it, and neither one gets buried under the other.

Marshmello is the one having the bigger year of the two, going by output. He put out his own album, ‘Shockwave,’ not long before this single: two releases in close succession from an artist who rarely seems to slow down these days.

Alesso doesn’t disappear into the pairing either. His own instincts are all over the finished track, and it shows in how the whole thing sits together.
